Overview of Photodiode Receivers
Introduction to Photodiodes
A photodiode (PD) is a
semiconductor device that converts light into an electrical current, by
which is generated when photons are absorbed in the photodiode.
Photodiodes usually have a slower response time as their surface area
increases. Generally in reverse bias where the cathode is operated at a
high voltage than the anode, photodiodes
Photodiode array (PDA) is a
one-dimensional array of hundreds or thousands of photodiodes that can be
used as position sensor. They allow for high speed parallel read out since
the driving electronics may not be built in like a traditional CMOS or CCD
sensor. Photodiodes may be integrated into the package of a laser
diode.
High responsivity can be
achieved with avalanche photodiodes (APDs).

What We Offer
Lasermate Group, Inc. offers various
photodiodes: GaAs PIN photodiode, InGaAs PIN photodiode, Avalanche
photodiode (APD), and pre-amplified photodiodes. Our photodiodes are highly
sensitive and reliable for data communication and telecommunication
applications. The packages of photodiodes in connectorized LC/FC/SC/ST
receptacle and pigtail are also available.
